Rob Off was raised in the Midwest suburbs; he spent his college years in southeastern Ohio where there are a few rolling hills and natural vistas. He traveled to southern California where he completed his graduate degree in Sculpture and first experienced living off the grid. In order to escape the continuous chaos of Los Angeles he moved to the Pacific Northwest. There he discovered frontier culture, highly calculated urban development, and the coastal range. For the first time he had found a place that felt like home. Currently Rob lives and works in Bloomington Indiana, where he spends much of his time creating sculpture, designing and building furniture and experimental living environments, entertaining ideas of the apocalypse, and formulating escape plans.
